INFUSED WITH REIKI ENERGY

They’re so light, you won’t notice you’re wearing them. They’re also bendy and made with super strong gel-spun polyethylene thread, one of the strongest fibre cords per diameter ever created, and our gold-filled ear wires won’t scratch like gold-plated will.

You might not know its name, but if you love exploring rockpools in Australia as much as we do, you’ll be familiar with the sea star ‘meridiastra
calcar’. Commonly known as cushion sea star, carpet sea star or eight-armed sea star, it has eight little arms and highly variable geometric patterns in bright
oranges, reds, greens and blues. It’s abundant in tidal pools from southern Queensland right around New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia to
south-west Western Australia.

Cushion sea stars are so well camouflaged that you have to squat down and look carefully in the rockpools and scan for them, even when you think there’ll be none. Once you spot one, its neighbours will instantly pop into view, and suddenly you’ll see a whole galaxy of adorable fat starfish in front of you. Yes, the collective noun for starfish is a’ galaxy’!

Sea star spotting is one of our favourite ways to be fully present and immersed in nature when we’re at the beach.

Just like their namesake, our Queen of the Sea Starfish Earrings have character. They hang slightly curvy and feature gilt-edged star tips. I HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN. WILL I BE ALLERGIC TO YOUR JEWELLERY?

Our jewellery is made of glass seed beads with 14ct gold‑filled, sterling silver or stainless steel findings (see above for what gold‑filled means). Our stainless steel ear wires are made of 316 surgical stainless steel.

Sugarberry Shimmy jewellery is 100% nickel-free – we've checked every single bead finish!

Each product page lists the materials in the 'Materials, weights + dimensions' toggle section.

If you’re generally allergic to gold, silver or stainless steel, you’re likely to develop an allergic reaction to our standard jewellery. However, we'd be happy to source some special ear wires just for you in a hypoallergenic metal like niobium. Contact us and we'll work out a solution for you.

We use only the finest quality materials in our pieces. In the unlikely event that you develop an allergic reaction to your Sugarberry Shimmy jewellery, please let us know.

Don’t wear your Sugarberry Shimmy jewellery in swimming pools, the ocean, or in the shower or bath.

Chlorine, the force of ocean waves and soap and shampoo build-up can all damage your jewellery or leave it looking less than fabulous.

WHAT IS GOLD-FILLED?

Gold‑filled is a solid layer of gold which is mechanically bonded to a base metal. The gold layer in gold‑filled jewellery is 5 to 10 times thicker than gold plating and looks the same as solid gold.

Even with daily wear, gold‑filled jewellery can last from 10 to 30 years. Up to 10 times thicker than gold plating but a fraction of the price of solid gold? We think gold‑filled is pure genius.
